On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 48th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cyprus, the Pharos Arts Foundation, with the kind support of the Embassy of China in Cyprus, presents the leading violinist Dan Zhu in a unique recital with pianist Julien Quentin. Widely recognised as one of the leading violinists on the international stage today, Dan Zhu has been praised by The Strad magazine as “an artist of affecting humility and beautiful tone production”. His recent triumphant performance with the Boston Symphony at the Tanglewood Festival has been raved by the critics as "truly brilliant, compelling, and polished". read more....

The Pharos Arts Foundation presents a unique concert with violist Razvan Popovici and pianist José Gallardo. Regarded as one of the most accomplished and versatile violists of his generation, Popovici has appeared as a soloist in some of the world’s most prestigious venues including Théatre-dés-Champs-Elysées in Paris, Cologne Philharmony and Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and he is a regular guest at some of the most renowned festivals in Europe. Winner of numerous piano awards and boasting an impressive discography, pianist José Gallardo has appeared in venues such as Berlin’s Philharmony, Zurich’s Tonhalle, Hamburg’s Musikhalle, London’s Wigmore Hall, and Teatro della Pergola Florence, to name but a few. For their recital in Nicosia, on Thursday 28 November 2019, at The Shoe Factory / 8:30pm, Razvan Popovici and José Gallardo will perform an exciting programme of works by Schumann, Brahms, Glinka and Piazzolla. The Pharos Arts Foundation continues its long-established collaboration with the prestigious International Sevilla Guitar Competition and the Cervantes Institute in Cyprus, in presenting every year the first winner of the Competition.
The First Prize Winner of the 2018 Sevilla competition, Sasha Savaloni is one of the most sought-after guitarists of his generation who has appears in some of the world’s most important international guitar festivals including the London Guitar Festival, St Magnus International Festival, Sul Tasto Paris, Festival de la Guitarra de Sevilla, Corde d’Autunno in Milan, Les Garrigues Memorial Emili Pujol. For his recital in Nicosia, on Friday 6 December 2019, at The Shoe Factory / 8:30pm, Sasha Savaloni will perform an exciting and wide-ranging programme of works by Schubert, Turina, Granados, J.S.
